Beyer s Byways: Lucerne Valley, a small town with big history

Many from the High Desert have driven through Lucerne Valley. Perhaps on the way to Big Bear, Joshua Tree National Park or Landers to experience Giant Rock. Or, perhaps again, just to stop in town for breakfast or lunch, on the way to some heavy-duty four-wheeling in Johnson Valley.
Or, maybe, to film a movie like “Valkyrie” (2008), “Green Lantern” (2011) or “Alpha” (2018). There are many, many more films, TV series and commercials shot in Lucerne Valley, but I got lazy and decided the three most-popular films would do to make my point.
