H.K. and Angela Smith are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Lexi to Mitch Mingo, son of Darwin and Julie Mingo of Rockland, Idaho. They will be married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan, Utah Temple on May 18, 2021. Lexi graduated from the Idaho Virtual Academy with honors in 2017. She then continued her education in the honors program at Idaho State University, where she is participating in the nursing program. Mitch graduated from Rockland High School with honors in 2016 and was salutatorian. Following high school Mitch went on to serve a mission in New Mexico for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 2016-2018. After returning from his mission he found his way to Idaho State where he obtained his degrees in On-Site Power and Diesel Technology in May of 2021. They met on the Institute Council at ISU. CUMBERLAND – On May 2, 2021, Lois B. Gatcombe passed peacefully at Mercy Hospital in Portland after a brief illness. She was born in Augusta, Maine, as Lois Marie Benner on April 27, 1927. She was the only child of Floyd L. and Gladys M. Benner.
She attended schools in Augusta and Rockland. Her nickname was Susie. Lois had many memories of being a child of the Great Depression and being in high school during World War II.

CORONA DEL MAR, California Ernest Dondis, born June 10, 1924, passed away on peacefully on April 17, 2021 in his home surrounded by family.
Known as Ernie by his friends and Dr. Dondis by his students, Ernest was born in Rockland, Maine when a loaf of bread cost 9 cents. He was the youngest son of James and Ida Dondis, who settled in the area along with other family members and were prominent among the Jewish families who helped to establish the Adas Yoshuron Synagogue. James Dondis opened a candy store to supply patrons of the Strand movie house next door, operated by his brother, and used his four sons, Ernest, Phillip, Joseph, and Maurice, to deliver candy supplies for movie goers. His sisters Ruth, Edith, and Bertha helped mother Ida bake her weekly batch of fresh bread for the family and attend to other household needs. Virginia Hudgins Barnard Sawyer, 91, of Rockland passed away on April 9, 2021 in Rockport.
She was born in Rockland, Maine on July 25, 1929 to Margaret Mayo Gay Barnard and Clarence Edward Barnard. She was the baby of a beautiful blended family which included siblings Edward Barnard, Walter Gay (wife Winona), Alice Gay Spear (husband Philip Spear), Eleanor Barnard Glover (husband Kent Glover), Richard Barnard (wife Mabel), Leigh Barnard (wife Ida). Her siblings were simultaneously protectors, pranksters, and confidants.
