It’s been four weeks since New Jersey administered its first dose of the coronavirusvaccine.
While state officials have expressed disappointment that we’ve received fewer doses than initially expected, overall, they said they think the effort is going well.
Gov. Phil Murphy said Friday that the state could administer more doses if the federal government would send more.

ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP Police officers and firefighters were among the first to receive a COVID-19 vaccination at the state s new vaccine mega-site at a vacant Sears store.
Gov. Phil Murphy and Morris County officials toured the site on Friday. It is housed in the 3,000-square-foot Rockaway Townsquare mall. The site is operated by Morris County in partnership with state officials and Atlantic Health System. Officials said they hope to administer up to 2,400 vaccinations a day at its full capacity. This site is now open for our heroic front-line health care workers and police and fire first responders, Murphy said at a news conference at the mall on Friday. Our decision to open up the line to police and fire personnel was simple. They have simply put themselves in harm s way for months.
