Jul 30: The idea of India sending two teams, one to England to play the Test series there and the other to Sri Lanka for limited-overs series was actually demeaning to the very essence of a national side.
One can debate on the fact that India can make two international level cricket teams. If so, one wonders as to why India has not won a single major tournament in the last six years. The quantity is surely there for one to see, however, it is the skill and quality of a player at the top level that makes the difference.

Colombo, July 30 : Indian head coach Rahul Dravid has said that he was not disappointed by the performance of the young batsmen in the T20I series against Sri Lanka. He believed that the youngsters have to keep getting better in future.
In Thursday s decider at the R Premadasa Stadium, India managed to get just 81 in the first innings. Sri Lanka chased 82 with seven wickets in hand. I m not disappointed. They are young batters; they have to keep improving and getting better. The Sri Lankan team s bowling attack is their international bowling attack. They re missing a few batsmen because of various reasons, but this is a top-quality attack. So, it s a great opportunity to reflect on these performances, reflect on these conditions, and maybe come up with some slightly better strategies, said Dravid in the post-match

Colombo [Sri Lanka], July 30 (ANI): Rahul Dravid, India s head coach for the Sri Lanka tour, has said wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson would be disappointed with the way he performed in the white-ball series.
Wanindu Hasaranga s four-wicket haul and Dhananjaya de Silva s unbeaten 23-run knock helped Sri Lanka defeat India by seven wickets in the third and final T20I. With this win, Sri Lanka won the series 2-1.
In the one ODI, Samson managed to score 46, while in the three T20Is, the right-handed batsman managed to score just 34 runs. I think, to be honest, not the easiest of the conditions to bat in for Sanju as well. Obviously, in the one ODI game, he got a chance in, he got off to a good start and he scored 46. But in the T20Is, probably, batting well in the first one, the wickets in the last two T20Is have been challenging. But yeah, I guess he will look back at this series and be a little disappoin

Colombo, July 30 : Winning Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka was grateful to Indian skipper Shikhar Dhawan and coach Rahul Dravid for sharing their knowledge with the young Sri Lankan team. Just as we learn from our own senior players it is important that we also learn from the experience from Indian players as well. I was really grateful to Shikhar giving this opportunity, said Shanaka while speaking to journalists after the T20 series victory against India. Shikhar is a player who has experience over ten years playing international cricket. I asked him how he prepares himself and what was his game planning and situation handling which are very important, Dasun said when asked as to what the Indian captain told his team at the end of the final T20 which Sri Lankan won with seven wickets.
