After the first instance in 2017, the idea found new life in Kolkata, was adopted rapidly in Bengaluru, saw a start in Bhubaneswar, and moved north to Gurgaon earlier this year a snatch of the cities where community fridges have appeared, with some NGOs stepping up to the idea and roping in resident welfare associations to partner.
