Kajol charged in another DSA case Investigators have brought charges against photojournalist Shafiqul Islam Kajol in another case filed under the Digital Security Act stating that his purpose was to deteriorate law and order through aggressive intimidation and posting defamatory photos and writings on Facebook. Among the 32 accused named in the first information report (FIR) of the case, police found evidence only against Kajol. Bangla daily Manabzamin Editor-in-Chief Matiur Rahman Chowdhury, its staff reporter Al Amin, and 29 others were not named in the charge sheet of the case, filed by ruling Awami League lawmaker (Magura-1) Saifuzzaman Shikhor, as the investigators did not find any evidence against them, according to the police probe report.

Image Source: IANS News Dhaka, April 30 : Two militants of the banned Ansar al-Islam militant outfit were arrested on Friday by Bangladesh s elite police force, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), from Pallabi and Shibalaya areas of Manikganj, near Dhaka, officials said. The two, arrested in separate raids, were identified as Sajib Hossain Khan, 22, and Abdullah Zayed, 19. Jihadi books and leaflets were seized from their possession. A RAB official told IANS that Khan was an active member of Ansar al-Islam and in regular contact with other militants. Meanwhile, Zayed used social media to contact members of Ansar using various anonymous IDs.

Speakers made the suggestions at a webinar titled Bangladesh in Industrialization . Bangladesh Electrical, Electronics and Home Appliance Manufacturing and Exporters Association (BEEMEA) organised the webinar. They said Bangladesh is self-sufficient in manufacturing of electronics and technology products. After meeting local demand, the Made in Bangladesh labelled products are being exported to different countries. But the homemade products are being neglected in government procurement.
