Burger seller fined RM50K in Kelantan  The pandemic hasn’t been an easy ride for anyone. One such example is this burger seller who was fined RM50,000 in Kelantan after his stall was found operating past permitted hours there. After his story went viral, with numerous netizens lamenting the hefty fine, authorities have come out to clarify that maximum fines for businesses operating past permitted opening hours during the Movement Control Order (MCO) is now capped at RM10,000.

KOTA BARU (Bernama): A burger seller at Kampung Rambutan Rendang near here was issued with a RM50,000 compound for violating the movement control order (MCO), including operating beyond 10pm. Kota Baru district police chief ACP Abdul Rahim Daud said the man also violated the standard operating procedures (SOP) by setting up tables for customers and failing to provide a body temperature scanner on Sunday (April 25). Due to the offences, we issued the maximum compound of RM50,000. However, he can appeal to the Health Ministry for a reduction, he said when contacted here Monday (April 26). Earlier, the burger seller, in a social media post which has gone viral, claimed that he was slapped with the maximum penalty of RM50,000 for operating the burger stall in front of his house at around 11pm.

KOTA BHARU, Feb 13: A senior citizen was found dead in between tree branches at about eight metres from the ground, near his house in Tanjung Mas, Pengkalan Chepa here, today. Pengkalan Chepa Fire and Rescue Station operations commander Senior Fire Officer II Rusli Muhammad said Zakaria Adam, 62, was found on the branches of the Semarak Api tree after it received an alert on the incident at about 9.40 am. “Seven personnel with two fire engines were rushed to the scene and arrived eight minutes later. We were informed that the victim, who was hired to cut down the tree, had fainted and got stuck in between the branches.
