Jab drive announced for two more Phnom Penh districts

The Phnom Penh Municipal Administration on May 15 announced a first-dose novel-coronavirus vaccination campaign for Boeung Keng Kang and Sen Sok districts from May 18-31, and a follow-up second-shot drive from June 1-15.
Twenty vaccination sites have been set up in a combined 13 communes across both districts – mostly at schools and health centres, according to the announcement signed by municipal governor Khuong Sreng.
It called on residents of the two districts to avoid travelling to vaccination sites without having received a patient invitation letter from local authorities.
Sreng stressed that the greater vaccination effort would pull out all the stops to ensure that all Phnom Penh resident aged 18 and over have received at least one dose of a coronavirus jab by end-June.

According to an announcement signed by governor Khuong Sreng on May 12, only some parts of four districts including Tuol Kork, Por Sen Chey, Russey Keo, and Meanchey remain red zones.
Capital s designated zones retained for another week

The Phnom Penh Municipal Administration will retain through May 19 the capital’s three-colour-coded system that determines to what extent coronavirus restrictions are placed on parts of the city.
As more areas are downgraded to the less-stringent yellow or orange categories, out of the capital’s 14 districts, only Tuol Kork, Por Sen Chey, Russey Keo and Meanchey districts contain red zones, according to an announcement signed by municipal governor Khuong Sreng on May 12.

PHNOM PENH, May 10 (Phnom Penh Post/ANN): Phnom Penh municipal governor Khuong Sreng said the authorities are looking into reducing the size of the red zone areas from being imposed on entire communes to designating them at the village and household level, as new Covid-19 cases in the capital have dropped in recent days.
Sreng revealed these plans while inspecting the vaccination campaign sites in the red zone on the morning of May 9. I am evaluating with specialists how to better consolidate control in the red zones, and we saw that yesterday there were only 200 more Covid-19 cases in Phnom Penh, decreasing from the over 500 per day seen previously, ” he said.
