Those aren’t great numbers, and they are likely because he was never expected to play every day, but has had to due to various injuries. As a pinch-hitter which is supposed to be his principal role he’s hitting .346/.393/.385 (9-for-26) with two walks. Those are good numbers. With Nico Hoerner back, Sogard can go back to doing something he’s actually good at.
