Multiple communities in Pinal and Gila counties have been ordered to evacuate or are preparing to evacuate as a wildfire continues to burn, the Pinal County Sheriff's Office said Sunday morning. The fire, called the Telegraph Fire, has burned around 76,620 acres and closed multiple roadways in the area, deputies said. Fire officials said on Tuesday that containment around the fire was at 18% and five structures were destroyed, but it's unknown.
The declarations for the Telegraph and Mescal wildfires will allow response efforts to contain the fires to receive $400,000 in state funding, officials said.
