Obituary: Alice Jeanne Osborne Black of Humphrey | Stuttgart Daily Leader

Alice Jeanne Osborne Black, who passed away Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, was born to Imogen and Harry B. Osborne in Pine Bluff, AR. After a few days, she came to Humphrey, AR where she remained the rest of her life. She, Donna Wessels, Ann Epperson and Irene Ellerman grew up on the same street in Humphrey and became lifelong friends. Alice, Donna and Ann lived on the same street, until Alice’s death. Nancy Lockhart came to visit her grandparents in Humphrey during summers and became another lifelong friend.  Alice was a graduate of Humphrey High School. She also attended Stephens College, a private women’s college in Columbia, MO for a year. She made more lifelong friends during her time at Stephens.

It is an opportunity for our representatives to advocate for the needs of their constituents, to move economic policy for their region, influence tax policy, promote education and health care. This session the deadline for submitting bills was Dec 18. It was with great interest that I looked forward to the release of the bill titles our legislators have submitted in representing the needs of the people of Franklin County. January  Three teams from Spruce Mountain Middle School were recognized for their accomplishments at the Maine FIRST LEGO League Championship held in December at the Augusta Civic Center. Members of ‘Just the Incredible 6’ won the Global Innovation Award and finished 10th in the robotic performance portion of the competition. The team Silent Bot Deadly took 11th out of the 28 teams in the robotic performance while Space Savers, a team of sixth graders were recognized with the Core Values Gracious Professionalism Award. More than three months after the explosion at the LEAP Inc. central office building in Farmington, Larry Lord’s condition was upgraded to fair. Lord received burns over more than half of his body in the explosion at the LEAP building where he was maintenance supervisor. He is credited with saving the lives of several LEAP co-workers after he got them out of the building moments before the explosion at Farmington Falls Road.
