Legacy Lodge is closing.
Nye Health Services, which owns the assisted living facility, announced on Wednesday it would close Legacy Lodge by March 31, forcing residents to find new accommodations in the midst of a pandemic.
âI donât know if thereâs any good time to make this decision,â CEO Russ Peterson told the Jackson Hole Daily.
Nursing homes and assisted living facilities have been one of the hardest-hit sectors during the coronavirus pandemic. A large proportion of deaths have been seen in the facilities across the nation, which, combined with regulations limiting family visitation, have created significant financial stress.
York remembers Jim Bartlett as local leader who listened

YORK, Maine The town lost a dedicated public servant, a passionate provider and a good friend late last week when Jim Bartlett succumbed to cancer.
Bartlett served on town boards and commissions, headed service organizations and worked tirelessly to help others. As a past president of the Board of Selectmen and chair of the Long Sands Bathhouse building committee, he touched many issues and lives.
Jane Morris worked with Bartlett on the regional Make-A-Wish program, as well as in Rotary, where he was president as well as Rotary Foundation chairman.

No institution lasts forever. They get too old, too big, too tired. Eventually, they outlive their usefulness and forget their original purpose. When that happens, the best thing you can do for them is pull the plug.
