The following area students were among more than 2,300 students who graduated with bachelor s, master s or doctorate degrees from Ohio University for fall semester 2020. Students included:
ALLIANCE Samantha Kibler graduated with a master of physician assistant practice from Ohio U’s College of Health Sciences and Professions. Michael Slabaugh graduated with a master of science in nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner) from Ohio U’s College of Health Sciences and Professions.
UNIONTOWN Melodie Liston graduated with a bachelor of science in nursing (baccalaureate nursing) from Ohio U’s College of Health Sciences and Professions. Delainey Mellott
SALINEVILLE Delainey Mellott, daughter of Rick and Jessica Mellott of East Liverpool, has been selected as the Kiwanis Student of the Month for February at Southern Local High School. She is ranked third in her graduating class with a 4.378 GPA.
Delainey has been an Honor Roll student throughout her high school career. She is an active member of National Honor Society, Varsity Club, President of Senior class and Student Council. She was on the 2019 Fall Homecoming Court and 2021 Winter Homecoming Court. She has participated in the College Credit Plus Program at Kent State and Eastern Gateway Community College.

Ohio University announces patent and technology license agreement with American Resources Corporation Published: February 17, 2021 Author: Staff reports
Ohio University announced today a patent and technology license agreement with American Resources Corporation, a socially responsible supplier of raw materials to the global infrastructure marketplace, giving exclusive rights to utilize the technologies covered by the patents in applications related to rare earth mineral processing and graphene production.
The technologies were originally developed by Dr. Gerardine Botte while an OHIO Distinguished Professor and chemical and biomolecular engineering professor in the Russ College of Engineering and Technology.

GCPH moves vaccine clinics to Russ Research Center
BEAVERCREEK TOWNSHIP Greene County Public Health will begin hosting its COVID-19 vaccination clinics this week at Ohio University’s Russ Research Center at 2730 Indian Ripple Road.
GCPH had previously been holding its vaccination clinics at the old Greene County Career Center just outside of Xenia on West Enon Road. Due to available space and future sale of the property, public health officials began looking for another facility that could accommodate more people and bring them indoors out of the elements and frigid temperatures. GCPH officials announced Monday the partnership with Russ Research Center.
