In the summer of 2019, Rose Fumoso left her home in southern France to intern at a Sonoma County winery, where the 21-year-old greeted customers in the tasting room and assessed the ripeness of grapes from the vineyard. As the season wound down in September, a friend invited Fumoso to a party celebrating the end of harvest.
There, she met the host: Dominic Foppoli, the mayor of Windsor.
A small town in the heart of Wine Country, Windsor has transformed in recent years from a sleepy neighbor of Healdsburg to a tourist destination. Much of that rise has been credited to Foppoli, a young winery owner whose political star and push for development have attracted outside investments in the community.

Reuben’s Brews triples-down on triple IPAs By washingtonbeerblog on February 16, 2021 at 12:32 PM
Is Reuben’s Brews the Master of Triple IPA?
I don’t know the answer, I’m just posing the question. Such things are not for me to decide. Many of Washington’s breweries, and a lot of breweries across the nation, have created triple IPAs. Some of them very successfully. I don’t intend to suggest otherwise. But damn, Reuben’s Brews has an uncommon obsession with this style.
One thing is certain, Reuben’s Brews is pretty damn serious about triple IPA. Right now, they have three of them for you to try: Blimey That’s Bitter and Triple Crush are available in cans for pickup at the brewery’s to-go store (order online), and Gobsmacked is still on draft at the taproom. Yep, three triple IPAs at once.
Bill Daviesâ new wines
Bill Davies, drawing on his family history as part of the Schramsberg winery, has launched a new line of wines.
Davies, the son of Jack and Jamie Davies who founded Schramsberg in the mid-1960s, makes Billy D, and Ramble wines sourced from Northern California vineyards at a custom-crush facility.
Billy D wines include Mountain Barbera, French Colombard and Daydreamer Rosé. The logo, a billy goat, invokes Daviesâs dedication to bucking old trends while creating new ones.
Ramble features lower-alcohol offerings with certified organic fruit from 70-100-year-old dry-farmed vines. The wines come in 750ml, using ultra-light glass and a plant-based, fully recyclable cork. Ramble includes Chenin Blanc, Valdiguié Rosé and Carignan bottlings from 2019. Petite Sirah, Charbono, and Barbera were crushed and fermented in 2020 for future release.
