Ledecká to miss Snowboard World Cup in Italy to compete in Alpine skiing event Wednesday, 16 December 2020 Olympic champion Ester Ledecká of the Czech Republic will miss tomorrow s parallel giant slalom event at the International Ski Federation Snowboard World Cup in Carezza in Italy. Ledecká, who made headlines at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang after claiming gold in the parallel giant slalom snowboard and super-G Alpine skiing events, topped the podium at the season-opening event in Cortina d Ampezzo at the weekend. But the 25-year-old Czech star has not entered the second event of the campaign, instead opting to compete in the downhill at the Alpine World Cup in Val-d’Isère.
