A team of the forest department today seized illegal logs worth Tk 26 lakh from a village at Rangunia upazila of Chattogram. The illegal logs of wood were seized from Nishchintapur village of the upazila after we received a tip-off, said Md Khasrul Amin, range officer of Echamoti Range Office under Chattogram North Forest Division, reports our Chattogram staff correspondent.

Hasan distributes food items among 2,000 families in Rangunia

CHATTOGRAM, April 24, 2021 (BSS)- Food items have been distributed to 2000 families of Rangunia upazila at the personal initiative of Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud.
NNK Foundation, the family organization of the Information Minister, organized the distribution function and delivered these iftar and food items to the needy at Nurjahan Community Center in Rangunia Upazila Sadar on Saturday.
Hasan virtually joined the distribution function as the chief from his official residence in Dhaka.
The Information and Broadcasting Minister called upon the leaders and activists of the Awami League and its affiliated bodies in his constituency to come forward in aid of the day laborers, boatmen, rickshaw-van drivers and other low-income earners during the Corona period.

DHAKA, April 24, 2021 (BSS) â Awami League Joint General Secretary and Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said the arrested Hefajat leaders admitted BNP-Jamaatâs active involvement and financing in the mayhem carried out on March 26-28 last.
âArrested Hefajat leaders started disclosing the truth. They have already admitted where and when the meetings were held and who funded,â he said while replying to reporters at his Minto Road residence here.
Earlier, the minister virtually inaugurated food aid distribution for 2000 low income group families at his home constituency of Rangunia in Chattogram under his personal initiative.
