As the Des Moines Community Playhouse nears the end of its current season, it has announced plans for 2021-2022, including Cabaret, Roald Dahl s Matilda The Musical, and Agatha Christie s Murder on the Orient Express.
In addition, the Kate Goldman Children s Theatre at the playhouse will perform works based on classic and contemporary children s literature, including Junie B. Jones in Jingle Bells Batman Smells, Don t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical! and Charlotte s Web.
Though performances will take place before in-person audiences, the playhouse said in a news release that it will continue to offer live-streaming and video-on-demand options for most of its productions.
