Western Kentucky residents can expect calm and chilly weather this week, with no significant precipitation in the forecast.
During the weekly briefing with the National Weather Service in Paducah, Meteorologist Rick Shanklin says cloudy skies will likely be as close as the region comes to rain or snow and high temperatures will moderate into the upper 40’s.

Everyone bid farewell to 2020 Friday, and the National Weather Service looked back on the weather that occurred during the year while looking forward to what comes next.
Warning Coordination Meteorologist Rick Shanklin appeared on WHOP recently and says while the region certainly had its brushes with severe weather, 2020 overall was pretty average in the way of weather events.
