Jason Barnes attended the court, along with Portland Port Police Sergeant, Chris Grant, to be attested to the office of Constable on Thursday, March 4. Police Sergeant, Chris Grant, said in court it was a monumental day for PC Barnes and an amazing achievement for his career. PC Barnes read out a declaration before it was signed by himself and the two sitting magistrates in the court.
