John Carroll University selects new president
John Carroll University will have a new leader next month.
University president Michael D. Johnson on June 1 will be succeeded by JCU s executive vice president, Alan Miciak, officials said in a release issued Monday, May 3. Miciak, also the former dean of the Boler College of Business, will become the university s 26th president.
The university outlined a goal in the statement of ensuring the continued long-term prosperity of John Carroll University and ongoing great student outcomes. The board saw in Dr. Miciak a unique opportunity to engage a highly qualified new leader from within who has a proven track record at John Carroll to steer the university through the next stage of its transformation, JCU board of directors chair Bill Donnelly said in the release. Working closely with Michael, Al has shown a clear vision and plan for propelling the university to 2050 and beyond with a renewed focus on the student experience.

FULTON – Fulton Block Builders (FBB) has heard from many participants about how good it feels good to be part of something that’s improving their neighborhood, bringing neighbors together, and lifting up our city. In 2019, one block started a Pay-It-Forward and the idea caught on.
As a result, the FBB fundraising committee the 2021 Pay-It-Forward Campaign, which asks former recipients to help others take advantage of the program by contributing back. If a property owner has received funds from FBB in the past three years to make curb appeal improvements to their home, they have received a letter discussing Pay-It-Forward.
