Dousing the threat: Fire extinguishers for vehicles campaign grows

ST. THOMAS More than two months after the death of a St. Thomas woman in a fiery crash, her legacy continues to lead to change. A local campaign to put fire extinguishers in vehicles is growing into a national fight. The objective is to change impaired driving laws, while also convincing automakers to put extinguishers in all new vehicles.  The effort sadly began on Oct. 2, 2020, with the loss of 35-year-old Cindy Devine.  She’s really was the driving force. Cindy Devine died after becoming trapped in her burning car on October 2, 2020. Her loss has sparked a campaign to put fire extinguishers in every vehicle. (Submitted Photo)

Letters: CEOs who are still not prepared for a deal or no deal deserve to be fired

Credit: geert vanden wijngaert/bloomberg SIR – I am the CEO of a small-to-medium enterprise that trades almost entirely in Europe. A hard Brexit holds no fears for us. Indeed, our market share in Europe continues to expand month by month. So I was astounded by the insipid helplessness of other CEOs (“What would a no-deal Brexit mean for business?”, telegraph.co.uk, December 11). Here’s my advice to shareholders. Fire your CEO and the board if they haven’t already configured the business for a hard Brexit. Fire them if they only offer products and services that are so unremarkable that they can’t withstand ordinary World Trade Organisation tariffs.
