Yates County Judge Jason Cook will issue a verdict at a later date after a recent bench trial of former Keuka College security officer Stephen Hilyer.
It all wrapped up this past week in Yates County Court, according to District Attorney Todd Casella.
Hilyer faces a felony charge of sexual abuse.
He’s a Seneca Falls resident who was taken into custody by the Yates County Sheriff’s Office in August 2019 after allegedly sexually assaulting an employee of the school.

A Penn Yan sex offender was sentenced to 10 years in prison in Yates County Court on Tuesday.
The Finger Lakes Times reported that Timothy Brewer, 65, of Penn Yan had pleaded guilty to predatory sexual assault against a child, and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
He was a registered level two offender at the time of his arrest in 2020. Brewer was accused of grooming and luring a child under the age of 11 to perform sexual acts that increased in severity over the course of the incidents.

PENN YAN – Four sex offenders in unrelated cases appeared Tuesday, Jan. 12 in Yates County Criminal Court before Judge Jason L. Cook in the only in-person session allowed last week due to COVID-19 restrictions on court procedures. A fifth previously registered sex offender was to have appeared, but failed the Covid screening. His case was adjourned.
PABLO P. BACON, 23, of Canandaigua, convicted of second-degree rape (class D felony), was sentenced to 180 days in jail, 10 years probation, and registration as a sex offender. Bacon was arrested May 14, 2020 by Yates County Sheriff’s Office investigators on a sealed Yates County Superior Court arrest warrant following an investigation of allegations he subjected an underage juvenile to sexual contact in the town of Middlesex.
