The trial previously heard that Gladue, who had four times the legal limit of alcohol in her system when she died, suffered from a severe wound to her vagina and bled to death.
Barton told the jury that he lied to nearly everyone, including police officers, his wife, hotel employees and colleagues, about how he knew Gladue and what happened before she died. I lied to a lot of people, Barton said from the witness stand. I just wanted to get out of there and continue my day.
