Red light, green light, pay the fee without the collections surcharge.
That s the program that the clerks of court in multiple Northeast Florida counties are offering soon as part of Florida s Operation Green Light.
The semi-annual program allows drivers who have overdue traffic tickets or criminal fees to pay them in full while waiving the 30 percent collections surcharge.
Duval County s clerk of court offered the service this past November when payments were made for 139 cases totaling $33,616, spokesman Brian Corrigan said. This year s reprieve is set for March 1-5 and will be strictly available online due to the pandemic.
The clerk’s office encourages anyone who has overdue traffic tickets or criminal fees to take advantage of this opportunity to restore their driving privileges, Corrigan said. . During last year’s event, 89 individuals either had their driver’s license reinstated or made eligible for reinstatement.
