Tottenham are facing a summer of major upheaval after enduring a difficult campaign both on and off the pitch. Spurs were one of six English clubs at the centre of the botched European Super League debacle. Matters on the pitch fared little better. The club emerged on the losing end of the EFL Cup final and had to settle for securing a place in Europe’s third tier competition – The Europa Conference League.

Tottenham Hotspur qualified for Europe! That’s the good news. But it’s not the Champions League, nor is it the Europa League. Instead, Tottenham have limped into the Europa Conference League, a new third-tier European competition that will debut in the 2021-2022 season.
Whoof. I know, right? But by virtue of beating Leicester City in the final Premier League match Spurs managed to qualify for this tournament instead of Arsenal, so it probably behooves us to learn a bit about it before it all kicks off in August.

PARIS: Lille clinched their first Ligue 1 title since 2011, becoming only the second club since 2013 to break Paris St Germain’s dominance as an enthralling title race ended on Sunday.
PSG had to better Lille’s result, but Lille won 2-1 at Angers and PSG won 2-0 at Stade Brest in one of the most exciting French seasons for many years.
An early Jonathan David strike and Burak Yilmaz’s penalty in first-half stoppage time put Christophe Galtier’s side on 83 points, one ahead of defending champions PSG.
Rio Ferdinand says a ‘nightmare’ awaits Tottenham Hotspur

Rio Ferdinand has said on BT Sports that playing in the Europa Conference League would be a nightmare for Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham could play in the Europa Conference League next season if they qualify.
Spurs have finished seventh in the Premier League table this season with 62 points from 38 games.
This means that the North London outfit will enter the Europa Conference League at the playoff round stage.
