On February 25, the republic’s general staff called for the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The Armenian Defense Ministry did not support its colleagues, stating that the army should not meddle in politics. However, the general staff found support among the majority of opposition politicians and a significant part of the general public, Izvestia reports.
