Triple vehicular collision proves fatal for motorcyclist, accident involves minor
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA,KECY) - At approximately 10:34 p.m. on Saturday, the Yuma Police Department (YPD) responded to a report of an accident involving three different parties on the corner of Avenue C and W. 24th Street.
An initial investigation determined a 50-year-old male was riding his motorcycle on Avenue C, approaching 24th Street. A 17-year-old female driving a passenger car happened to be turning left from southbound Avenue C to eastbound 24
th Street.
She collided with the motorcyclist at the intersection. The young woman then proceeded to hit an SUV which was westbound on 24th Street.

MCAS Yuma brings WTI training to local park
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Yuma will bring its world-class training to two locations in Yuma Friday, where spectators can witness emergency military operations.
Twice a year, MCAS Yuma hosts a weapons and tactics instructor course (WTI) where Marines from all over the country come for seven weeks to train for various real-life scenarios.
On Friday, that training will be at Kiwanis Park and Arizona Western College (AWC). WTI students will be conducting a foreign humanitarian assistance operation.
This training aims to provide the students with realistic training for a mission they may execute in real-world operations.
House Fire in the 4300 block of West 17th Place Published: 12 April 2021 12 April 2021
Yuma, Arizona - On Friday, at about 10:10 PM, a house fire was reported in the 4300 block of West 17th Place. Arriving Yuma Fire Department personnel found heavy smoke and flames coming from 4348 West 17th Place. It took approximately 30-40 minutes for firefighters to extinguish the fire. One person was home at the time of the fire, they were treated for burn injuries and transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center.
The fire was determined to have started in the back patio area of the home and had extended into the interior of the home. The fire was able to be contained to the one home, which sustained significant damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation but believed to have been accidental. The American Red Cross was called to the scene to provide assistance. YFD personnel remained on the scene throughout the night to monitor for any hot spots or flare ups.
