LANE COUNTY, Ore. The new guidelines for mask wearing from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention allow fully vaccinated people to go without wearing a mask in public. However, the state of Oregon has not released specific guidelines for businesses to follow at this time.
Many business owners KEZI spoke with Friday expressed confusion over the new rules, saying the announcement came as a shock to them.

The money will be used to rebuild the runway and make lighting and taxiway improvements.
Meanwhile, Avelo began its non-stop service to the Hollywood Burbank Airport on Wednesday (May 12). And Southwest Airlines will begin daily non-stop flights to Las Vegas and Oakland, beginning August 29th.
The news signals what Eugene city leaders and tourism officials hope is a long-awaited rebound from the pandemic’s crippling effects on the travel economy.

Eugene will be getting a $5.5 million federal grant to help rebuild a runway and make lighting and taxiway improvements at Mahlon Sweet Field, the congressman representing the area and Oregon s two senators announced last week.
The grant comes from the U.S. Department of Transportation, according to news releases from U.S. Rep. Peter DeFazio and U.S. Sens. Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley.
All three are Democrats, and DeFazio represents the district that includes Eugene.
The airport reconstructed the taxiway for the main runway using CARES Act dollars last summer.
In both cases, the federal support is critical, said Cathryn Stephens, the airport s acting director. She told city and county officials last year that the airport would have to delay some planned projects after the coronavirus pandemic caused serious hits to revenue.
