Carrefour lands a new store at Dubai International (DXB)
DUBAI, 14 hours, 33 minutes ago With travel restrictions easing across the world, Carrefour – owned and operated by Majid Al Futtaim in the UAE – has opened a new store at the world’s busiest international airport, DXB, to make shopping more convenient than ever. Located in the arrivals area of DXB’s Terminal 3, the 24-hour store opened its doors on Thursday 4 May, offering high-quality products for tourists, frequent fliers and the local community. Commenting on the launch, Bernardo Perloiro, Chief Operating Officer of Carrefour at Majid Al Futtaim Retail, said: “As a brand famous for welcoming the people of the UAE at its stores for the last 25 years, we are thrilled to be greeting travelers as they arrive at DXB. The Sustainability Pitch is a groundbreaking new programme from TRBusiness that recognises and rewards stakeholders across the travel retail supply chain.
More than 20 senior travel retail and sustainability executives from across the global travel sector have confirmed their participation as judges in TRBusiness’ ‘The Sustainability Pitch’.
As announced, the pioneering industry-wide recognition programme will showcase and celebrate sustainable initiatives across the travel and travel retail sector.
The Sustainability Pitch will play a central role in the first-ever
Travel Retail Sustainability Week, due to take place on 19-23 April 2021, to coincide with Earth Day on Thursday 22 April.
The programme is a response to the growing importance placed on environmental considerations by consumers in their choice of products and services.
