Former New York Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver is going back to prison.
NBC 4 New York reports he s being returned from furlough after his request for home confinement was denied.
Silver was furloughed from the Otisville Correctional Facility earlier this week, but could return as early as today.
Silver is serving a six-year sentence on corruption charges.

Silver was released Tuesday from a federal prison on furlough while he awaited potential placement to home confinement. The 77-year-old Silver had been in prison since August, where he was serving more than six-year sentence at a prison in Otisville, New York.
His return to prison came after the U.S. attorney’s office in Manhattan, which prosecuted Silver’s case, said it had notified the Bureau of Prisons that it had opposed Silver’s release.

Silver is due to return to prison as soon as this afternoon. Silver was released earlier this week while awaiting a potential placement on home confinement.
