A man will spend three years on probation for stealing more than $37,000 from a retired pastor in York County that was meant to pay for expenses such as his care at assisted living facilities.
Robert “Butch” Redmond, 58, of Conewago Township, pleaded guilty on Friday to theft before President Judge Maria Musti Cook. He converted money that belonged to the Rev. Albert Davidson Jr., who most recently served as pastor at Manor Baptist Church in York.
“I spoke with the victim, who advised he did not want to see the defendant go to jail,” said Chief Deputy Prosecutor Melanie Wiesman, who stated that Davidson indicated that he wished for Redmond to work and “pay off the money that was wrongfully taken.”
