YORK, Maine –– A message from York High School Principal Karl Francis to parents and students detailed tentative plans for the Class of 2021 s graduation ceremony.
An option to hold three separate ceremonies with 30 to 40 students apiece over a two-day period, Thursday to Friday, June 10 to 11, has been suggested. In this proposed plan, the graduation ceremonies would be assigned based on each student s “Pride,” which is a group of 10 to 12 students that meets regularly for all four years of high school.
This option reflects the state s current COVID-19 pandemic safety guidelines and would allow YHS to expand upon last year s approach, which held 11 small-group commencement ceremonies with about 10 students apiece.
