HYDERABAD: The second wave of Covid19 is seeing a steady decline and yet the risk of people getting infected exists in the public sphere. Districts like Yadadri Bhongir have recorded 46 new cases (290 in a week), Warangal urban 61 new cases (445 in a week) Suryapet 84 new cases (537 in a week) and Mahabubabad 68 new cases (461 in a week).

The Civil Supplies Corporation (CSC) in the Telangana State had procured approximately 60.5 lakh tonnes of paddy worth Rs 11,414 crore as on Wednesday. The Corporation is preparing to purchase another 20 lakh tonnes of paddy, with a procurement target of 80 lakh tonnes, before the rainy season next month.
Paddy cultivation has been taken up in about 52.76 lakh acres across the state. According to the extent of cultivation, a paddy yield of around 1.29 crore tonnes was expected, where the Civil Supplies Corporation would purchase about 80 lakh tonnes.
The Corporation s chairman, Mareddy Srinivas Reddy, stated that approximately 76% of the paddy was purchased. The 656 procurement centres have been closed after completing the purchases in 12 districts of Nizamabad, Nirmal, Mancherial, Kamareddy, Karimnagar, Jagitial, Rajanna-Sircilla, Peddapalli, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Yadadri Bhongir, and Wanaparthy.

Hyderabad, April 28 : Telangana hit a new high in fatalities due to Covid-19 as 56 more people succumbed to the virus during the 24-hour period.
This is the highest number of daily toll since outbreak of the pandemic last year. The state had reported 52 fatalities ón Tuesday.
The overall toll has mounted to 2,150. The case fatality rate stands at 0.5 per cent as compared to the national average of 1.1 per cent.
The state reported 8,061 new Covid-19 cases, down from 10,122 on Tuesday. The numbers appear to have come down due to relatively low number of tests conducted during the 24-hour period.

The number of COVID-19 cases showed a dip with 8,061 people testing positive for coronavirus on Tuesday as against 10,122 cases reported on Monday. However, there was no respite from the death toll with 56 people succumbing to COVID-19 across the State compared to 53 on Monday.
The total number of positive cases rose to 4,19,966 with 3,45,683 patients recovering fully. On Tuesday alone, as many as 5,093 people recovered. Cumulatively, over 1.27 crore samples have been tested. The case fatality rate for Telangana stood at 0.51 per cent as against 1.1 per cent clocked in the country. The recovery rate too was at 82.31 per cent against 82.3 per cent in the country.
