Double Drive-By Shooting Still Under Investigation
As Yakima Police continue to investigate a drive-by shooting reported February 24 in which two teens were injured the Yakima County Prosecutors Office is developing charging documents but so far two juveniles being held behind bars won t face assault charges in connection with the shootings. Authorities say they don t have the evidence to connect the juveniles with either shooting in which two victims were injured.
Prosecutor Joe Brusic says while there s no plan for assault charges at this time the two juveniles do face possession of a stolen vehicle, eluding and unlawful possession of a firearm charges.

The awareness campaign urges men and women to know their risk factors, and make changes for a heart-healthy life. Possible risk factors include: smoking, obesity, sedentary lifestyle, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. First responders in the Yakima Valley are first in line to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and firefighters at the Yakima Fire Department received the vaccine on Tuesday. A press release says firefighters received the Pfizer vaccine at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. They were the first from the department to get the vaccine other responders will also get the shots. Chief Aaron Markham, one of nine from YFD to receive the vaccine says it felt just like the flu vaccine that he gets every year.
Front line medical workers like doctors and nurses were the first to receive the vaccine in Yakima late last year when the vaccine first arrived in the county.
