SANEF BLASTS LOOTING OF RADIO STATIONS Andiswa Ngenyane and Quincy Mahlangu 15 July 2021 Mams FM. COMMUNITY radio stations have been some of the hardest hit since the start of the violent protests this week. So far, stations such as Alex FM, West Side FM and Mamelodi (Mams) FM, all in Gauteng, and Ntokozo FM in KZN have all had their expensive equipment looted. It took Alex FM 27 years to collect their equipment that was looted and due to this, the station said it would not be able to operate. “It’s with sadness and devastation to announce that during the early hours of the morning of 13 June 2021, Alex FM radio station has become one of the properties that were targeted and looted because of the numerous protest actions around the area,” the station said.
