Denley: Needed – real-world solutions to the affordable housing crisis

Article content For one brief moment, I thought the city of Ottawa was about to do something rational to help the more than 350 homeless families it has stashed in motel rooms across the city. What caught my attention was a headline in this newspaper saying “City eyes private leasing for affordable housing.” Yes! At last, an obvious idea about to take hold, but no, eyeing and acting are completely different things, as the story explained. When it comes to a certain type of city bureaucrat, it’s never too soon to delay. We apologize, but this video has failed to load.
