Much like last year, it seems like a smash-and-grab result for TFC as NYCFC seemed the much better side. Unfortunately, a series of piss poor calls from David Gantar gave TFC enough momentum to poke in a goal in the final stage of game.
Another point of interest will be that NYCFC might have just lost Alex Callens and Maxime Chanot to injury as both had to leave the game due to varying ailments. Should their injuries be serious, we’re looking at potentially depleted defensive corps going into the next few weeks.
It s one of these opponents, you know them on paper but it s much more difficult when you play against them, said Toronto coach Chris Armas. They re off to a good start, they ve got some goals off set pieces. They re dangerous. They re a good team. And they re defending well, as well.
