The UFC Vegas 20 weigh-in results are in the books following Friday’s official tipping of the scales at the Apex in Las Vegas.
Heavyweight contenders Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Ciryl Gane square off in the UFC Vegas 20 main event, looking to take the next step toward title contention.
Rozenstruik currently sits at No. 4 in the UFC heavyweight rankings, while Gane is ranked No. 7. The winner won’t move into an immediate shot at the belt, as champion Stipe Miocic is currently slated to fight Francis Ngannou with the winner expected to defend against Jon Jones. There is also Derrick Lewis, who recently defeated Curtis Blaydes, waiting in the wings.
In a recent interview with Joe Rogan, Dustin Poirier said that it doesn't make sense for him to face Conor McGregor for the UFC lightweight championship.
After finishing up a two-year suspension as a result of testing positive for EPO, former UFC bantamweight champion and flyweight title challenger TJ Dillashaw is set to make his return to the octagon in the near future.
Dillashaw spoke with former UFC fighter Mike Swick on his podcast on what could be next for the former 135-pound champion.
“There’s been some talks right, but nothing can be announced yet,” Dillashaw said. “I’m in a good situation. I think everyone in the top five has called me out.”
Dillashaw knows after a two-year suspension and a legacy to cement, he doesn’t have much time to waste.
It may be months before we see Jon Jones's UFC heavyweight debut, but he's not sitting idle. He's working hard to add strength in preparation for the division.
