LAHORE: PTI unopposed Senator Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry and other MPAs called on Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar here Thursday.
The chief minister congratulated the newly-elected senators of PTI and its ally party the PML-Q and expressed best wishes for them. He said through a successful strategy in Punjab, senators have been elected unopposed and the attempts of horse-trading have failed, adding that transparency won in Punjab and those who were offering ‘bids’ remained disappointed. He said the PTI government has upheld the cause of democratic traditions in Punjab and termed the unopposed election of PTI and PML-Q candidates a welcoming sign. He said opposition remained unsuccessful in the past and will see the same fate till 2023. KARACHI: The Sindh High Court’s Sukkur Bench ruled Monday that if any person is bitten by a dog, the membership of the respective Member of Provincial Assembly elected from that area will be.

PESHAWAR: Taking notice of a video clip showing certain PTI lawmakers receiving wads of banknotes and stuffing them into bags during the March 2018 Senate election, Prime Minister Imran Khan removed Sultan Mohammad Khan as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs.
Sultan Mohammad Khan, hailing from Charsadda district, was later asked to submit his resignation. He penned down his resignation on a piece of paper, which Chief Minister Mahmood Khan promptly accepted.
In his resignation, the law minister said it was his moral duty and obligation after the surfacing of the video in which his name was mentioned to offer his resignation. Describing himself as a committed team member of Chief Minister Mahmood Khan s cabinet and follower of Prime Minister Imran Khan, he remarked it was an honour and privilege to serve in the cabinet.

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) accused 20 MPAs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of horse-trading in the 2018 Senate elections but could not prove allegations.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan had announced that cases against MPAs involved in corruption would be referred to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) but not a single case against any MPA has been referred to the NAB.
Some former MPAs have filed a defamation suit against Prime Minister Imran Khan in various courts but the PTI has not submitted evidence or reply in any of the cases. Two petitions filed under the Defamation Ordinance 2002 are still pending. PM s lawyers are using various tactics to delay the case. The special jirga met former special assistant to the chief minister Arif Yousaf for an out-of-court settlement. The court dismissed the case after the reconciliation between both parties.
