Georgia Ex-Cop Facing Charges After His Former Department Reported Him to FBI When He Bragged About His Involvement In Capitol Riot
A Georgia man who reportedly is an ex-cop bragged on social media about participating in the violent Capitol riot on Jan. 6 was turned in to authorities by his own former police department.
Authorities say 58-year-old Michael Shane Daughtry who was described by Pelham Mayor James Eubanks to local station WCTV as a briefly tenured member of the small town’s police force before being fired over social media issues last year claimed he was “one of the first ones over the fence” when a mob of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol building earlier this month.

Today William McCall Calhoun, the Georgia attorney who allegedly said he was among the first who “kicked in Nancy Pelosi’s office door” and that Pelosi would’ve been “torn into little pieces” if the mob found her during the Capitol siege, had a bail hearing. He was arrested on January 15 and charged with entering a restricted building or grounds; violent entry or disorderly conduct; and tampering with a witness, victim, or an informant for his role in the January 6th insurrection. It looks as though Calhoun will be staying behind bars as U.S. Magistrate Judge Charles Weigle denied his request for bail.

MACON, Ga. A federal judge found probable cause Thursday for the charges against William McCall Calhoun Jr., a Georgia man charged with storming the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 who allegedly kicked in the door to Nancy Pelosi s office.
Calhoun, himself an attorney from Americus, Ga., about an hour and a half southwest of Macon, was arrested on Jan. 15 in connection to the riots in D.C. earlier this month.

MACON, Ga. An Americus attorney who took part in the Capitol riot on Jan. 6. was denied bond at a court hearing in Macon Thursday.
McCall Calhoun faces several federal charges, including trespassing in the federal building and disorderly conduct. He was arrested at his sister s house in Macon on Jan. 15.
After hearing evidence against the Americus lawyer, U.S. Magistrate Judge Charles Weigle ordered Calhoun must stay detained pending a trial.
Weigle says Calhoun s actions within the last six months suggest he has been seduced by a dangerous and violent ideology.
