Rapper, Kiernan Forbes, also known as AKA, has for the first time spoken publicly about his version of the final hours of his late fiancé Anele “Nelli” Tembe’s life, marred by arguing and threats of suicide before she died.
AKA spoke to television anchor Thembi Mrototo in a sit-down interview produced by Bar Leader TV. Tembe fell to her loss of life from the tenth flooring of Cape Town Pepperclub Hotel within the early hours of 11 April. She was 22 years.
AKA gave his model of the occasions, saying he had a gig in Cape Town that fateful weekend and had travelled with Tembe, as they had done before.

AKA s 22-year-old fiancée Anele Nelli Tembe died on April 11 after apparently falling from the 10th floor of the Pepperclub Hotel in Cape Town.
The circumstances around her death remain under investigation.
AKA is expected to share his version of events as well as address allegations surrounding his relationship with Nelli.
According to Sunday World, a source close to the rapper claims that Nelli Tembe’s father and well-known businessman, Moses Tembe, has allegedly hired a private investigator to probe the circumstances around the death of his daughter.
AKA DEMANDS TEMBE FAMILY RETURN ROLEX
AKA previously gifted his then fiancée with a snazzy Rolex. Another source has claimed that since he has been aware of the Tembe family hiring a private investigator, he has demanded that the family return the expensive gift.
The Rolex can be seen in the screenshot below in Nelli’s Instagram announcement post of the couple’s engagement in February 2021 to share a photo of her ring.

Media personality Bonang Matheba has brought out the big guns and opted to sue a podcaster.
Bonang is suing Rea Gopane for R500 000 after a video of him went viral, following the tragic death of her ex-boyfriend rapper AKA’s fiancée Anele “Nellie” Tembe last month.
In the video, Rea and his co-host discuss the circumstances around Anele’s death and how, at her funeral, her father, Durban businessman Moses Tembe, had alluded to his daughter possibly having a problem with substance abuse.
“We know AKA, let’s not hide from the truth. Scoop (television presenter Scoop Makhathini) told us that AKA is on cocaine and Bonang is the one that got him onto cocaine. Scoop told us that, so we know that AKA is into hard drugs,” Rea said.
AKA temporarily parts ways with Cruz Vodka following leaked videos
AKA is no longer partnering with the brands he had deals with, including Cruz Vodka.
AKA has put his work with the vodka brand on pause amid public scrutiny and backlash over leaked videos of him fighting with his late girlfriend, Anele “Nellie” Tembe.
Tembe, 22, died on April 11 after a fall from the 10th floor of the Pepper Club in Cape Town. Her death is being investigated.
Her father, Moses Tembe, has put on record that he does not believe his daughter committed suicide.
A video, which emerged in reports at the weekend, shows AKA breaking down a bedroom door with his hands, apparently trying to get to Tembe, who had locked herself in the room. The alleged incident happened on March 13.
