Green light for $32M new Bunnings on Bruce Highway

  Bunnings is set to expand its footprint in one of southeast Queensland s fastest growing areas with a new $32 million warehouse. The new 13,000 sqm warehouse will be built at the old Big Fish site on the corner of the Bruce Highway and Pumicestone Road - now known as the Sungate Business Park. This massive development is expected to also include other retail outlets, a supermarket and multiple food outlets.

The Mayor of Tweed Chris Cherry says she supports the swift action of the Queensland Government in introducing a 3-day lockdown of the Greater Brisbane area in response to a COVID-19 case. On Friday, the Queensland Government announced a 3-day lockdown of Greater Brisbane effective from 6pm Friday 8 January 2021 to at least 6pm Monday 11 January 2021 (Qld time). The NSW Government issued a Public Health Order which states that any NSW resident who has visited the Greater Brisbane area since 2 January 2021 is to stay at home until 6pm today (NSW time) Monday 11 January 2021. In addition to the Greater Brisbane area, the NSW Public Health Order has included the local government areas of Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim and Somerset.
