If the Chicago Bears want to keep offseason revamping of their offensive line, their search must continue past Morgan Moses.
That’s because the former Washington Football Team starting right tackle is heading to the Big Apple:
Former WFT OT Morgan Moses is signing a one-year deal with the NY Jets, as @Sam4TR reported.
Moses, 30, would’ve been an intriguing addition to the Bears’ line. Fortifying the group with someone who has made 96 consecutive starts at right tackle would’ve been nice. Bringing in Moses also would’ve created more competition along the interior of the line. Pitting Germain Ifedi, James Daniels, Alex Bars, and Sam Mustipher against each other for two starting gigs could’ve made for a great battle. And adding Moses on a one-year contract would’ve put Chicago in a place to slow-play the development of rookie Day 3 pick Larry Borom. Instead, Moses moves to New York, where he’ll protect another rookie quarterback in second overall pick Zach Wilson.
NEW YORK (AP) The New York Jets signed former Washington offensive tackle Morgan Moses to a one-year deal on Friday according to a person with direct knowledge of the signing. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the Jets hadn’t announced the move. The Washington Post first reported the signing. The addition gives rookie quarterback Zach Wilson another veteran protector.
