ROCK HILL, S.C. (WBTV) -Thousands of students in Rock Hill Schools will be going to a new school soon.
The Rock Hill School Board decided to close three elementary schools within the district.
Rosewood, Belleview and Finley Road elementary schools will shut their doors at the end of the school year.
The school board says there are two reasons for it.
It will save the district $25 million.

ROCK HILL, S.C. (WBTV) - A community coronavirus vaccination clinic is now open in Rock Hill.
The clinic, led by Rock Hill in cooperation with SC DHEC and Piedmont Medical Center, is located at the Galleria Mall at 2295 Dave Lyle Blvd in Rock Hill. It’s in the space formerly occupied by Home South and Goody’s.
Operating hours will be Tuesdays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. by appointment only starting January 22. Click here sign up.

ROCK HILL, S.C. (WBTV) - As South Carolina continues to vaccinate those 70 years and older for COVID-19, health leaders believe it could be months before they move to the next phase.
Vaccination appointments for people 70 years and older started on Wednesday, Jan. 13 in South Carolina.
South Carolina says the vaccine is not currently available to those 65 and older unless they are admitted to a hospital.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A 22-year-old died of COVID-19 in the Mecklenburg County area, health leaders announced Wednesday morning, becoming the countyâs youngest virus death.
Public Health Director Gibbie Harris made the announcement during a briefing a day after issuing a stay at home directive for Mecklenburg County.
âWe had our youngest death yesterday. We had a 22-year-old die of COVID-19 in our community,â Harris said. âThat is not acceptable.â

ROCK HILL, S.C. (WBTV) - Rock Hill City Council has unanimously approved bringing the Carolina Panthers new headquarters and practice facility to the city.
In the special called meeting Thursday, city council voted on three items to finalize approval.
One dealing with annexation, which means bringing a portion of land into the city limits. Another item that changes the annexed land’s zoning to master plan residential. This gives council more decision-making control for a massive project. The last agenda item is the development plan.
