(WFIE) - Officers with the Evansville Police Department arrested two people after they say both were found asleep in a Corvette with the engine running. Around 4 a.m. Thursday, officers say someone called 911 to report a Corvette being driven recklessly, speeding and swerving down Morgan Avenue. The caller described the car as “looking like a galaxy.” ”The call is what tipped us off to have us go in that area to look for that car,” Sgt. Nick Winsett, Evansville Police Department Public Information Officer said. “So, otherwise, who knows, the way they were driving, they may have ended up hitting another car, hitting a house, who knows.”

Man Arrested for Targeting and Attacking Light-Skinned Women in NYC Feb 25, 2021 12:51 PM 5,641 views   Staff Writer A homeless man has been indicted on 52 counts for targeting and attacking light-skinned women at the Morgan Avenue subway station in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn between Nov. 17 and Jan. 2, and another two at nearby locations. Khari Covington, 29, was charged with burglary as a hate crime, strangulation as a hate crime, and assault as a hate crime after attacking five women. When Covington was arrested in January, he told investigators that he attacked the women because they were light-skinned.  He appeared before Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Danny Chun on Wednesday (January 24) where his bail was upheld at $150,000. Covington is facing life in prison if convicted.
