BCSO Promotes Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month Thursday, May 6, 2021 The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office to promote Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. Agencies participate by providing information and increasing awareness in their communities about the importance of sharing the road and looking twice for motorcyclists.   “As the weather gets warmer, we will likely see more of our friends on motorcycles sharing the streets with automobiles, which is why it is the perfect time for us to remind the Bradley County community about the vulnerability of motorcycle riders,” says Sheriff Steve Lawson. “All motorists need to know how to anticipate and respond to motorcyclists to avoid crashes. By taking extra precautions, we can all help prevent motorcycle-involved collisions.”

Commercial collision leads to unsafe driving charges

Police briefs (DRYDEN, ON) – On May 5, 2021 at approximately 6:38 am officers from the Dryden Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the Machin Volunteer Fire Department and Northwest Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17, Mutrie Township (west of Dryden). The investigation revealed two commercial motor vehicles collided, blocking Highway 17. No injuries were sustained as a result of the collision. As a result of the investigation a 27 year old Winnipeg man has been charged with Unsafe Move Lane or Shoulder. Members of the public are encouraged to contact police at 1-888-310-1122 when they observe a dangerous driver.
