The polls are now open for the 10th annual Bad Art by Good People fundraiser, presented by the Champaign County Arts Council. The tongue-in-cheek competition features non-artist celebrities creating works of art and campaigning for the public’s votes for their artwork. Today’s featured artist is Marsha Bumgardner.

Even though I’m Irish and will surely drink green beer and Irish whiskey on that day, I still will never quite understand why we celebrate a man who drove the snakes out of Ireland.” UNITED NATIONS’ observance of  INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY was held on March 8. The theme was “Women in Leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world, on the way to the Generation Equality Forum.” This was a way of celebrating the tremendous efforts by women and girls around the world in shaping a more equal future and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

There are more than 35,000 peppered across the country, according to the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Depending on who you ask, these cultural institutions can get a bad rap for being too boring, stuffy, or outright elitist. But that’s certainly not always the case. There are tons of museums that house weird, wacky, and even wondrous displays that are anything but ordinary.     These unexpected museums are bursting at the seams with curious collections and one-of-a-kind finds, so consider making a pit stop the next time you find yourself road tripping around the U.S.
