Wednesday, December 9th, Galesburg police were dispatched to the area of North West and West Sanborn Streets in reference to vehicle theft. Upon arrival, police met with the victims, they were employees of Hoagland Enterprises. The victims had caught up with their stolen yellow minivan – a Stanley Steemer van. They told police a black male subject with dreadlocks was seen driving off in the van and had taken off on foot by the time they caught up with it. According to police reports, the subject also took two backpacks from the van. After getting tipped-off by a neighbor and a postal worker, GPD tracked down the subject: 28-year old Demetrius Bradfield of Galesburg, and he was taken into custody. Officers also located the two backpacks. Bradfield was also in possession of a set of car keys belonging to one of the victims and a light that had been torn off a garage on North West Street.
