She has proved her mettle with various performances in the films like Kahaani , The Dirty Picture , Ishqiya and more. However, she faced a lot of rejections when she first started out in the South film industry. In an interview earlier, Vidya had revealed that her first film was supposed to be with superstar Mohanlal, however, it was shelved after the first schedule. The director of the film and Mohanlal had made several films together and Vidya Balan was the new addition to their already established equation.
