NET recovers 17kg charas, arrests 11 in Mardan

MARDAN: In a major crackdown against the drug mafia, more than 17 kilograms charas and some quantity of crystal meth (ice) were recovered by the Narcotics Eradication Team (NET) in Mardan district and 11 drug dealers were arrested, while six persons were arrested with weapons during an armed clash between two groups on Monday.
Speaking to media persons, District Police Officer Zahidullah Khan said that under the directives of IGP Moazzam Jah Ansari, the Mardan Police’s NET has started operations against the drug mafia. He said the NET formed in Mardan comprises 50 members including Elite Force personnel and police woman too, equipped with modern weapons.
Asfandyar slams security withdrawal from ANP leaders

PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP)’s central president Asfandyar Wali Khan has taken strong notice of the security withdrawal from Ameer Haider Hoti and Mian Iftikhar Hussain.
In a press statement on Sunday, he warned that Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Moazzam Jah Ansari would be held responsible if any harm was done to the ANP leadership.
Asfandyar Wali Khan said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had taken back security and police guards from the ANP leadership at a time when terrorists were resurfacing and regrouping in the province.
